For the second time the Lusitano,
represented by 14 Motorcycle Riders supported the
March of Dimes 7th annual Dee Snider Bikers for Babies. The charity
motorcycle ride took 1,000 bikers on a 50 mile run around Nassau
County, New York, ending at Lido Beach. The event supported the March of Dimes and their battle to
find better medicines for premature babies. Angariacao de Fundos
para estudos sobra infantes que necessarem antes de altura, feito
por a March of Dimes Charity. A festa viu mais de 1,000 motas numa
volta de Nassau County. O Lusitano mandou a equipe deles para a
seqgunda vez.

hosted a fundraiser to help support the "Proud to Live" Campaign of
Lar do Idosos da Santa Casa de Misericordia de Estarreja (Portugal).
The funds were raised in order to help the research for
reabilitacion of memory loss for the elder

Lusitano, represented by Gabriel Marques Sr and Jr, donated to the
March of Dimes 6th annual Dee Snider Bikers for Babies. The charity
motorcycle ride took 2,000 bikers on a 75 mile run around Nassau
County, New York, ending at Lido Beach. The club's donation was part
of the $150,000 raised for the March of Dimes and their battle to

During the 2007 annual member's
ball at the PHS Lusitano the Management was made aware of a 6-year
old Portuguese girl, Daniela Duarte, living in Union, NJ who became
permanently paralyzed and mental deficient in a car accident only
several weeks before. The members quickly began to through money
into an empty box on stage and the club was able to raise over
$1,300 in a matter of minutes. An official fundraiser was scheduled
for early 2008 by her home club in New Jersey. Na baile
dos socios 2007, o club houvio da uma menina que esteve envolvida
num acident automovel e agora esta paralisada e mentalmente
deficiente. Os socios rapidamente angariacou fundos para cima de
$1,300.

The PHS Lusitano
hosted a fundraiser to
aid dear friend 5 year-old Julianne Rose Martins and her family in
raising money to help pay medical costs and combat her
fight to find a kidney donor; the Club helped raise over $41,000. In
attendance also was Village of Mineola Mayor Jack Martins. Jantar para angariacao de fundos a favor

The
Lusitano held a fundraiser to aid a family in Portugal whose son,
Ruben, was critically burnt at home in a kitchen accident with
boiling water. The funds where donated to help support his
medical costs. The Fundraiser raised over $15,000 for the family. In
attendance was Mayor Fernando Ribeiro dos Reis of Barcelos, Portugal the city
where Ruben lives. Angariacao de Fundos para ajudar uma
familia Portuguesa pagar as contas medicas do filho, Ruben, que
recentemente sofreu queimaduras graves. A Festa Rendeu mais de
$15,000 para a familia. Tambem present estava a president da
Barcelos Fernando Ribeiro dos Reis, a morada do Ruben.

The PHS Lusitano
held a fundraiser to aid
dear friend, PHS member, and former director Luis da Silva and his
family in raising money to help pay medical costs and combat his
fight with stomach cancer. The fundraiser collected over $37,000,

Araujo, a mother of two infant children who was criticaly injured in a
car accident. Attending the function were president Manuel Rodrigues and

donation center in Paredes de Coura, Minho, Portugal. PHS Lusitano

Jr and Association of Blood Donors de Vila de Paredes de Coura
President Anibal Malheiro.

tri-state area clubs in creating and setting down the initial funding to support the Portuguese
and their families who lost loved ones in
the tragedy of 9/11.
